I was taking folosmax . Now I have TMJ means jaw doesn't line up right. And hurt to eat anything THICK-like a hamburger. And the medicine is the cause. And to eat soft foods. Might need to have surgery. And will talk to Dentist this am. We clean his office. He told me to be careful on these meds. He might have to fit me with BRACES. Or make me one that I just wear to bed. And DR. said not to clench my jaw

I think your doctor should have made it very clear what the side effects of this medicine were before prescribing it for you. I can only hope that you can get everything sorted out quickly and that you'll soon be able to eat normally again. Let us know how you get on won't you?

As soon as you can get your jaw aligned and are comfortable--give that doctor a good chewing out! I'm so sorry you are going through this, and sincerely hope that your discomfort and "diet" are short and temporary.

Oh, that doesn't sound good at all. I have side effects from my cancer medication but none that effect my physical well-being like that. But, I'm living with the side effects because the medication seems to be working. I hope whatever you were taking the medication for is getting better, too. Hang in there.

Kostza, those bone drugs are bad. Seemed there was a move on to get almost all women on even if bone density wasn't that bad, like as a preventive.Lifting light weights & gardening are good to keep bones up. Green vegetables & just read on my osteoporosis support group,Lycopene(found in tomatoes)
is a bone builder. Yellow ones are best, which I don't have.
    Cooked is best.
I used to do yoga & went to senior exercise class at my sister's fitness center. She recently closed so I have routine print out & have been faithfully doing on my own.
While I'm at it.Would like to say one of the best things,if not the best is to practice some balance exercises.Might save you a fall & broken hip.

Yikes stop taking that crap. I think the doc's are in cohoot with the drug companies. They give you one pill and it causes something else to go wrong. Pretty soon your on more drugs than you thought possible. Say did you know that flosmax also causes you bones to be more brittle the longer you take it!

I'm reading more how to build bones with food.I still stretch out like we did when in Karate. But the folsomax -if you have trouble with your teeth. They fall out. Now to go pick tomatoes and peppers. Bad time of year to have this no BLT.

Went To dentist. He's been one of my customer for 15 years. He said I don't have TMJ. I had lower back tooth removed. And now teeth on right side didn't line up right. When he had me BITE down on blue tape-Pain. Ground 2 teeth down-repeated 5 times. He said in time might need bridge where tooth was removed. But did say folsomax does hurt teeth. Didn't charge me a time. So brought things to reline under 2 of his sinks. Dh and him raised homing pigeons .Said to take it easy on what I eat for about a week

That is one good dentist you have, and he obviously cares for you as a person as well as a patient. Glad things are getting better for you (and I hope there is a BLT in your near future!).
