Skinned japanese maple

    Well it's been a long while since I been on, And you might know I would start with a question. My hubby skinned our Japenese maple tree its about 5ft. tall what can I do for it if anything. Thank yopu all so much Margie :stew2: :stew2:

    By "skinned" do you mean he damaged the bark? If the bark is just damaged on one side of the trunk, and not deeply, Cheryl's post about her storm damaged hibiscus may be of help.

    If the bark is stripped all the way around the trunk, that's bad. The nutrient conduit has been interrupted, and the tree may not survive.
    Give us a little more information about the damage and how long ago it occurred, and we may be able to give better advice.

    Bark on my tree

    He just it it a little bit about 2 x3 inches. And its nt deep just like a top layer.

    Put some stakes around your tree to reduce run-ins with the lawn mower...

    Good advice from Coppice. Your maple should recover without major problems with so little damage done to it.
