    Greetings to you all from the west of Scotland. This looks like an interesting and cosmopolitan forum!
    My wife is the Head Gardener (mad on orchids which cost a fortune in heating but are worth every penny when they bloom) and I have devolved responsibility for veg, fruit and the water/wildlife garden.

    Hi Drummy and a big slainte (I'm Irish :)) also to GardenStew, nice to have another Scot on board. I'm sure you'll meet our fellow Scottish representative soon, moderator Eileen. I think you got the good end of the gardening stick, give me veggies over orchids!

    Make yourself at home,
    // Frank

    Hi Drummy, welcome to the Stew from north Texas.
    Orchids are beautiful flowers but way too much trouble for me, I tend to stick with natives since our summers can usually be really hard on plant life.
    Glad to have you with us.
