I spotted a Bee on my Hydrangea today and took one picture,..luck has it i thought,..it didn't move,..it was only after i took the second shot that i realized it didn't move at all?,..but i managed a third shot,..then thought it had died,..just sitting there,..next thing it came to its senses and buzzed off,..was it sleeping?,..very strange happenings in the garden of late.

    Those are great shots Philip.
    Maybe he's just a camera hog? :-D
Or was intoxicated by all the beauty and aroma of your flowers and passed out? :-D

The minions of the hive queen work tirelessly to accomplish their daily tasks, it is a wonder that we do not catch more in a moment of slumber. You seem to have done just that Philip.

Great shots, Philip. I see them here too with all this cool and rainy weather.
I like seeing these up close.

I see bees doing this quite a bit here too Philip. They seem to almost shut down for a while if the temperature drops. I presume it's to conserve energy until they heat up enough again to fly off. I certainly wouldn't blame them for taking a nap though when they can as they're always such busy little creatures.

Lovely photo of a dozing bee! Our ladies sometimes sunbathe. We have a large stone in the middle of one birdbath, and bees will crawl down the side of it to get a drink, then come sit on the top of the warm stone for a few moments.
I'll start worrying when they bring beach towels and expect me to fetch the mai tais!

I'd stop for a nap too, if I found such a pretty place to rest!
