Well with the cold and damp weather w'eve been having, the flower garden is still moving slowly. Not many things are blooming at the moment. It isn't going at all according to plan. :-? hahaha. Oh well there are a few bright spots. Knautia macidonica An unknown little flower that looks sort of like a double camomile. It smells like it too, but somehow I don't think that it is. It was a blow-in and I have never been able to identify it. The first Phlox of the ..."summer". A couple of garden shots. Newly cleaned, BTW... :-D
I am in the same boat! We have had such a cool, wet spring that everything is waaaayy behind schedule. I finally got morning glories planted on father's day! Your photos are great! I love the nice clean walkways Deanna :-D
I like the Knautia! We've had it for a couple of years. The main plant died last spring, but it has self-seeded so hopefully we'll have blooms this year. Your blow-in bloom is lovely. Our phlox are just big swaths of green. Love your walkway, well done!
I think it all looks great! lol,,again everyone is waaay ahead of me,,, but Sjoerd it still looks wonderful to walk thru. Thank you for sharing!
Hello...I had that small white flower at my last home and didn't think to bring any of it. I did like it and I don't know the name either...today it is cool here...such weird weather we have...One day hot the next wear a jacket...Sherry
Your garden is very pretty and I really like the walk thru. Everyone is having weird weather. We need rain here in Texas and it is already over 100 and not even summer! I'm ready for fall! And bless all those unfortunate people in IA and other areas of flooding!
Even without too many flowers Sjoerd your garden lottie is something very special. Your white flowers do resemble camomile but don't appear to have as many layered petals as the ones I've seen. I hope someone can ID it for you. It looks from your photographs that you're getting some sunshine now so I hope everything starts to bloom for you soon. :-D
Yes Eileen, I hope someone can too. It would be nice to know. I might just get a couple more. It seems to be a perinneal. Yes there was sun...but only for seconds in between the clouds. Day after tomorrow is suppossed to be sunny and approaching 20° C. fingers crossed. BTW Droopy...how long do the Knautia live? I'm hoping for a long time and I may well get a few more to put with this one. It blooms for a long time...and that's what I like. Thanks folks, for your nice words about my garden flowers foto. It makes me so proud.
It's related. They are so lovely...and there are several different sorts---tall and short and different colours.
Sjoerd everything is lovely as usual Your blow in plant looks like something in the Chrysanthemum family. It is wonderful.
Your garden is so pretty and green and mine is dying from the heat.I love the way the widing paths are.
I don't know. Ours lived for a couple of years, but it might be borderline here and would perhaps do better at another location. We've got those very tall giant scabiosa relatives, Cephalaria gigantea. They do much better.
Yes, I know that one. I finally got rid of mine this year. It was nicve to see but was just too large for my small garden---and it seeded out a bit too actively for me. Those roots can be tough to dig out once it has taken-up residence. I know, 'cos I moved it around from place to place over a period of 8 years. It became a monster. It would have been a supurb plant for my garden if it had not been so leggy and wide.
