Small green and black bromeliad

    Here's the second bromeliad I'm trying to identify. Unfortunately, the flower is dead in the photo, however, from memory it is black. As are the lower outer parts of the leaves.

    Not sure about this one, I like the more colourful ones,maybe some else can help.

    Chocolate the photo you provided in http://www.gardenstew.com/about24391.html looks a lot like my bromeliad. I asked my Mum and they get teeny pink/purple inset flowers...not black, like the dead flower in my photo.

    Does yours?

    I guess I'll have to wait until next year's flowers. Google just isn't being very helpful right now.

    Wait a minute...I have just been told the name, it is a bromeliad x cryptbergia.

    Found it on Google as Cryptanthus red burst or bahianus x Billbergia nutans.

    It's the pesky green one (at the top) I'm trying to identify now. :-?

    Yes I was trying to work that out, now we will concentrate on green one....sorry!

    Please don't be sorry, you've helped me so much areadly :stew2: I have more plants I need to identify, including the most slowest growing bromeliad on earth ;) ...post/photo coming soon.
