This is a really hardy little plant with delicate purple flowers and velvety leaves. It only grows (at my place) to about one foot/30 cm high. It seems to flower many times throughout the year, providing it gets enough water. I'd love to know its name.

Good morning, I am pretty sure this is the old fashioned evolvulous.

Chocolate, you're right again, thanks! I Googled evolvulus and found evolvulus alsinoides...which lead me to naming the other (more common) one I have in the garden, evolvulus glomeratus 'blue daze'.

Thanks again, it's a wonderful little plant and deserves more attention than I give it.

Rosemarie, I've just sat here flicking between pictures of Ruellia humilis and Evolvulus alsinoides, and the actual flower from my garden.

I believe my plant is much more likely to be Ruellia humilis, judging by the flower :stew1:
