Small Stemy Plant with Pink "Buds" or Flowers at e

Hey I was wondering if anyone could identify this small plant with a dark pinkish stem Green Leaves, and small pink Buds at the end of the plant. Also would it be tasty and safe to eat?

I think it might be Smartweed

 

I looked at this earlier and couldn't think what it was... and as I was mowing it came to me. and Smartweed is what I thought, also.

I have a book called "Feasting Free on Wild Edibles" it has all kinds of plants to eat and the directions on what to do with them, but smartweed is not listed as one of the edibles. Sorry. So I don't think I would try it.
