I went to work today for one of my regular customers - a rather well to do lady in the next village along. She is lovely and her family own a couple of large businesses in Essex so they are what my dad would have called 'old money' people. She has been a joy to work for and has a lovely old garden which is huge. Since her husband died 2 years ago, she hasn't had the heart to work in the garden, and altho she does have a chap come in and cut the grass, she has never let him work in her borders - then she was introduced to me and since that day, I have been looking after her garden for her, trying to tame it and get it back into shape. It has been a lot of hard work, and will continue to be as it is such a large garden. Today was the last day I will work there until January, and before leaving she gave me a lovely wrapped parcel and my christmas card. I put the parcel under my tree and opened the card. Inside was a form and part of my Christmas pressie is family membership to the Royal Horticultural Society! A fab gift - I am not a member as I can't justify the expense at this current time in our life. I was blown away - I never expected that at all. So, an early, and FAB christmas pressie which will be lovely for the whole family, not just me! :)

Oh my EJ....first I turned green and then I went crimson and finally a full-blown purtple with veins fully distended on my forehead and temples.... Jelousy is a terrible thing. :D

You got an excellent gifty there from an obviously totally satisfied customer. I hope that you can continue to work for her next season.

    Well done, you!

My jaw dropped when I heard of the pressie you were given EJ - what a wonderful thing for your client to do for you and your family. It just goes to show that the work you do for her in the garden is greatly appreciated. :D
