We have had some light sprinkles the past 2 days and it has reall brought the leaves down. Now the sun is out and I am mowing grass and mulching leaves. Chopping up the leaves is giving the kind of musty smell of fall to the air. Smells nice. The locust leaves are coming down faster than I can chop them though!

It sure didn't feel like fall here today...we had a hot, humid day feeling like 32°C. I enjoyed every second of it :)

I like fall okay except that winter follows it. I read where for the first day of fall Colorado was having some snow in the mountain areas of the state. I'm glad I'm in Texas. We only have rain and no leaves are falling. The flowers and trees are starting to bloom again after all the rain we've been having. We do need just a bit of sunshine mixed in though. dr and I have the sniffles from sitting out in the damp over the weekend. I know that some of those trees do lose their leaves but they can hang on for a little longer.

We've got so much rain and wind now the leaves get knocked off the trees before they manage to turn colours. :( I hope some trees will manage to hang on to their leaves so we can have some yellows and browns at least.

I love that special 'tang' in the air when autumn arrives. :-D Our trees are changing colours now too and soon I'll be back to a monochrome garden.

Love Fall! I'm looking forward to being able to work outside without mosquitos. Just got a new rotating composter (a gift!!!) so that will be a fun experiment too.
