My friends down in Georgia that we went to visit last May, sent a picture of what they found in their backyard yesterday.
It is a King Snake eating a Rattlesnake. The King snake is about 4 ft long and the rattler war about 2 ft long.

Whops! A spectacular photo, I've never seen anything like that. I am not quite certain what I would have done if I had seen that sight. I'm not very fond of poisonous snakes at all. Is that King Snake a poisonous one?

That's the best way to see a rattler, as lunch for another critter.
I know they are supposed to taste a lot like chicken but I would just as soon let the King snake have all he wants.

Yes, that's a good way to see a rattler, being eaten by something else!

We have lots of Copper Head snakes here and if I know it I will not kill a king snake.

I think this one is a Timber rattler that he is chomping on.

DO NOT like snakes of any kind. That is definetly an intereting picture...one you would have had to have your camera in hand!

Would look even more creepy if he started to eat it tail first. Let your friends know it is a very interesting photo Capt, thanks for posting.

Oh I find this photograph fascinating. How I wish I'd been on hand to see the whole thing for myself. I love snakes and have a Western Hognosed Pythion in a vivarium upstairs. He only eats defrosted weaner rats though. :-D
