Yes, you guessed it, my darling has a cold. I asked him to call in sick today to try and sleep it off, but no, in he went, and now he is sniffling and moaning and filling up hankies all over the house! Of course, the kids will come down next, and me, I will get it just as the kids break up for half term! GGRR.

It is a good idea glendann. The children take vitamin c everyday, and they haven't had a cold for ages - thankfully! My darling was taking ecinacea, but he forgot to take it whilst we went away in the summer, and hasn't taken it since. I am hoping he will have good nights sleep and a lie in in the morning (children permitting).

Have a basketful of oranges at hand and wave goodbye to colds. At least I find they help me :D I can't remember the last time I had one.

There's also a great new product on the market now EJ - for adults - it's called 'Frist Defence' and it's a nasal spray. It stops the common cold in its tracks. I know it won't be much use to Mark this time round but might stop you getting a full blown cold. My eldest lad uses it at the first sign of the bug and swears by it. Give him our love and tell him we hope he feels better soon.

Let's hope the cold doesn't make the rounds of the house. When momma gets sick, she can't just take a sick day.

I know pondlady! I am working in someones garden all morning tomorrow, and then I have yet more fruit to process as it is coming to me in sacks now! Today I made 12 apple and plum crumbles, 5 apple and blackberry pies, 1 blackberry pie, 1 huge apple cake (2Ib of flour huge!), and then had to wrap it all and label it all and get it into the freezer. I bottled some pears, and tomorrow plan to bottle some apples, make a pear cake and a plum cake, then find a dark corner where I can sniff and sneeze in peace!

Good grief!! I can't handle that on my very best day. How on earth do you do it sick?
BTW, I have space in my freezer in case you run out.

My freezer has plenty of space for your extras too EJ.

By the way, see if you can find a product called Mucinex over there. It is great for getting the congestion out of your chest and the icky stuff out of your nose, throat and sinuses. We use it for alergies, colds and sinus infections...works wonders.

Hope you can get some rest and get to feeling better soon.

EJ I don't know how you keep going and still manage to do so much when you're feeling rough. I have a chest infection at the moment and it's taking me all my time just to do the housework let alone anything else. Please try to slow down a little and pamper yourself for a while. I really hope that your cold passes soon. Take care.

Aww, thanks everyone. Had a rough night, this cold seems to have settled in the nerves on the right side of my face. I had such a headache, toothache and pain behind my eye that I couldn't sleep! Took some painkillers and paced around until eventually, I was so exhausted I flaked. Got on okay at work this morning, took it easy, then made a huge pear cake and am now about to make strawberry jam for the show on Saturday. A bit late I know, but better late than never.
