I am sure I will be sick of it before it leaves but we finally have some snow - about 3 inches and possibly more on the way. It was too fluffly for a snowman so I settled for taking pictures of my backyard. This is the garden under the willow tree that I made in memory of my Mother last spring. I love to sit out there in the quiet and read - I think I'll pass on sitting today. This is our little river/pond in the back yard. Actually it is the water that drains from my washer. It's there so I made it into a landscape feature. The grass along the edge is my way of warning people of something ahead. Another shot of the river/pond with my husbands bird feeders and our Christmas tree that he puts out there for the birds to have some protection from the cats. And the grand finale. This isn't on our property - it is our neighbors pond. It takes up a good portion of his front and side yard. His yard is always just perfect. He has no flowers but every blade of grass seems to stand at attention.
The photos really are lovely, Polly. And, this is exactly how I like to enjoy snow . . . . . . in pictures . . . . . . in other people's pictures . . . . . . in the pictures of people who live at some considerable distance from me . . .
Thanks for the pictures Polly. I love to see snow pictures too, I would love to be the one taking them as I wander around in it.
That is so pretty but freezes me to death at the same time. Thanks for the pictures.I would hate to have to try to sit out there now.
Thanks for the pics, it is the only way we see snow. Your landscape is gorgeous covered in a white blanket.
It's been so long since we had snow of any note, I'd almost forgotten what it looks like. Sleet, yes, hail maybe, frost certainly, but beautiful crisp white snow.....naaa. So thanks for that. You've a winter wonderland there! Pete.
I'm so glad you have snow. I just talked to my mother on the other side of Michigan. They have snow just like yours. My mother (92yo) shoveled the drive. Geez. Please keep the snow up there. My memories of it are not pleasant.
I lived through 3 Oklahoma winters in 1951-54 that was enough.I really feel sorry for those people in Okla may have some of the same here soon.I pray not.I was 8 yrs old when we moved there had to go to the chicken yard and house to gather the eggs and feed them.Ice skated through the yard on foot and back.Is not a really good memory.I know I don't wont to go there again.
Hey what's all that white stuff in your piccies Polly? Snow?? Mmmmm I can't remember exactly what it looks like around here - still haven't had a single flake.
