Snow Ice Cream 1 gallon snow 1 cup white sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 2 cups milk ,its better tasting with regular condensed or evaporated. You can used sweetened condensed milk but add stir and be sure to stir well after adding each time. I get my snow with a large spoon off the top of the car. DIRECTIONS When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in just enough milk for the desired consistency. Serve at once.
We eat snow in a variety of forms here in Wisconsin, and unlike down in Texas, we don't have to serve it immediately...it's not going to melt for awhile here in Wisconsin! Your recipe sounds scrumptious!
I think you could add strawberries or some fruits maybe blend them before adding for those of you that has lots of snow you could experment some.
Maybe!!!! I hadn't thought of that.I know it tastes like Blue Bell ummm good.Blue Bell is made in Hearne, Texas The only place to buy it here is at the Cracker Barrel.
how bout drizzling a little molasses or maple syrup over it???! snow's coming in later this week, sooooo....
We didn't get fancy with our snow ice cream, we just poured some vanilla extract over a bowl of it and ate it quick before it melted. Many years ago my oldest daughter had the entire Little House on the Prairie set of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder...I read them too, they were really good. Anyway, one of their winter treats was to make maple candy by pouring a thin ribbon of maple syrup over a pan of fresh snow while they were outside. The syrup would harden and they would have candy for the rest of the winter.
