I think snow is beautiful to look at but when it comes to cleaning up the sidewalks and driveway, my husband takes care of it. He has been out there for hours...first he made a path to our bird pergola so he could feed the birds and then he cleaned the dog kennel for Issabella and Miss Shadow to use for potty breaks. Then to the front of the house where snow was blown and with our strong winds and I couldn't even open the door...then to the driveway. At least we have a snow blower to do the driveway, the snow from the snow plows coming around the corner piles up right in front of the driveway... what do you think about snow....Love it or Hate it?
I think my avatar says it all for me. And I know that if I had to live with as much of it and for as long as you northerners do I would grow to hate it too.....but I don't so I love it for the time I am allowed to have it.
Sherry, your photos are lovely, and the snow is beautiful. However, we moved from the north to Texas to get away from that lovely, beautiful, five-foot drift, clearing the driveway three times a day, never getting really finished shoveling, snow. We have had snow twice in the 18 years we have lived in Texas, and both times I threw a hissy fit.
I like it ... in pictures! Having been born and raised in a snow belt, I can honestly say I could do without. Not because I don't find it pretty, because I do, but all the work that is involved with snow ... shoveling, brushing off the car, the need for boots and warm clothing, trudging through with firewood etc I could sure do without it! I would prefer to see 'pretty' in the form of flowers
Seven years ago we moved to west Texas to get away from the cold and snow. We couldn't take the hot summers though and 3 years ago we moved back to snow country. We just went from one extreme back to the old extreme. I told Mike that I can bundle up and stay warm but people really complain when I take off too many clothes to stay cool!
I don't really hate it but I don't like shoveling, it is getting too hard for me and I don't like driving in it unless I positively have too....I enjoy looking out the window and seeing it...staying nice and warm by the fire place...
That's exactly the way I feel also! 2 days ago everything was covered with pogo nip and was so pretty. I'm kicking myself now for not taking any photos of it.
I can't vote. I like it well enough when it's just a little bit at the darkest time of year and doesn't stay for too long. Otherwise I dislike it immensely.
I'll say that I love snow, and plenty of it - when it's in it's proper place - and God knows, this delicate planet of ours is done for without it, or when the balance tips just a little too far. But, with that said, I'll add that I am grateful beyond words that I have the luxury of choice NOT to live in a place where we see much snow.
