Jan sent me these irises a couple of years ago from Louisiana. They didn't bloom last year and not all of them bloomed this year. She said they liked their feet wet so I probably didn't water them enough and mother nature didn't help me.

This last one is another blossom. Note the little bug on it.

Dooley, while you said these Iris came from Louisiana are they the Iris that are indigenous to the bogs of Louisiana and the Gulf coast? I was looking up watering of Iris and some information said they don't like to have their feet wet. Well, that did not make sense since I had seen Iris growing on the edge of a pond in a bog(one of my 'Garden in the Woods' trips). Now I find out that among the more than 200 species of Iris there is a group of Iris native to Louisiana that slosh around in bogs. I was wondering if your Iris was that kind.

I think they are, Jerry. She lives near New Orleans and has crawfish holes in her yard. She said these irises like to have wet feet. I put them at the end of the house because that area dries out last when it rains as the water runs down hill.
