My garden is a humble, simple and wild-looking place to look at, not something that becomes a desktop background! But I love to spend time in my yard. My gardening friend from China writes 'Yarden'. I wrote to him appreciating the new word and said I'd also use it. In fact I named my exclusive garden blog as 'Dinu's Yarden'. It is a combo of yard+garden. So here are some views where you can find me when I'm home. I like to call 'in-garden' -- which is 'out of the house' and 'out-garden' can be 'in house' or 'gone somewhere'! This is applicable during daylight hours. My lawn is Bermuda grass. This is my west yard, small garden space.. birdbath... rain barrel [one more behind my back]. Some pots. All pictures taken in January 2015. More pots.. I don't like to keep many in pots. Some cactii in a stand. Outside the gate, looking west - misty morning. We ate part of that ashgourd. Picture taken from the adjacent house - new one which we built. This old house is 103 years old. I live in one half of it, the other half being divided with brother in 2009.
Gosh you really have quite a few plants there Dinu. It's so nice to see your garden and all the things you grow in it.
Thanks Frank. But these photos show some peace while actually it is a very busy area with lot of traffic and activity outside on our corner plot. There is a good variety I have in the yard. I had many more when the plot was in its entirety. Now only my half as I wrote in the other thread. The latest happy news is that a Red-whiskered bulbul has chosen my yard to make its nest. I'll be sharing photos in due course.
So glad you find peace in your "yarden". I did through your photos. Can't wait to see pictures of that red-whiskered bulbul. I've never heard of one.
I like your small 'yarden'. There's so many plants and it looks so peaceful. A prefect place to relax and block out the busyness beyond your yarden.
So is that a blue rain barrel in the first pic? Bet you make good use of that. Everything looks very interesting. Can't wait to see it later.
@waretrop Yes, that is the rain barrel you see there. You will see the second barrel in the last picture also. All the water coming down from the tiles from the shed roofs will go in there. I have also made arrangements to divert most of the water from the house into the sump, after filtering. I have put all the details in my blog. If you are interested, I'll connect you to my blog. @GinnyC thank you very much. Indeed, plants and flowers can make any place peaceful. Nobody disagrees with it.
