more pics from my yard......the walkway is before and after mulch (a yearly job). and, even after ripping out a huge hollyhock in the yard, i still got to have one outside the fence!

"I would like to buy that book please!"

Looks like front page and pages from a 'Home Beautiful" magazine.

    Very attractive.

that is very nice Annette. Did you lay the flagstone yourself? that is a hard job! The mulch really sets it off.

thanks, you are too kind....i don't know where that color hollyhock came from....the ones i had were a peachy-yellow color...but i was happy to see it in the spring. i've had the torch lilies for a long time, they must like the spot they are in. as for the walkway...my brother put that in for me a few summers ago..best thing i did in the yard seeing as it was pretty much a muddy path in the spring & when it rained. as for neat & tidy....i work with what i have....a narrow city lot and i try to 'pack' in as much as i can....sometimes i run out of room for new things i want to get! i would probably go nuts if i had more room (attempts to purchase empty lot next to mine have fallen on deaf ears).

thanks everyone!...i think the hollyhock is extra beautiful because it is a volunteer!..always like those. keep after your hubby tooty...the pathway took my brother almost a whole summer to put in, but i only had to pay for the flagstone & crusher. a contractor could have it done in a week, but that is where the expense is. if i had my way, the whole back yard would be flagstone with patches of raised beds for plants!
