    Hello everyone!

Here's a couple of things in my garden that are growing. What are they? (I live in Canada if that helps...)

Hi Brittilan and welcome to the stew!

The #2 picture is Virginia creeper. Turns a brilliant dark red in the Fall.

Is #1 the weed, goldenrod? If it is, some people grow it in the garden for the fall color.

I think the #1 one has a tiny little daisy-like flower on it. I am trying to remember what it is... Weed, though, for sure at my house.

It's not Goldenrod. It grows in my yard too, and it's definitely a weed.
The other is Virginia Creeper. Depending on who you ask, it may be a weed. I am one of those people. Virginia Creeper grows EVERYWHERE around here, choking out trees etc. so I always pull them out. Be careful with that one!

Netty is correct. Virginia Creeper is a weed for some but maybe not for others. It is beautiful in the Fall. It isn't as bad a wild grapes for covering trees, but it is hard to eradicate if you don't want it. it isn't like Poison Ivy where it is a parasite on the tree tapping into the cambium layer of the tree for it's sustenance. V. C. has little adhesive disks on its tendrils that adhere to the surface of the tree or structure it is growing over. When you pull it off the five little "spots" stay in place on the surface.

Fleabane maybe the other one http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?sym ... 10_avp.jpg Yours is still immature, but as it matures it starts to stretch and gets a white daisy-like flower on the top.
