http://fundivision.net/?p=480 added another site with even more information on some of these incredible plants. http://webecoist.com/2008/11/03/strange-rare-bizarre-endangered-flowers-plants-and-trees/ I was amazed at some of these plants, pretty unusual but very interesting![/url]
The Hydnora africana looks incredibly strange and I'm still not sure what to make of it. The Rafflesia arnoldii and Amorphophallus titanum are two of my most favorite plants ever. They just have such huge and stinky flowers. The Atlanta Botanical Gardens had an Amorphophallus titanum that bloomed a while ago and I was lucky enough to get the chance to go see it...smells horrible by the way. The Baobob and Dragon trees are very unusual and I have never seen anything like them before, although they did show the Dragon Tree on the plant episode of Life. I am also quite taken with the Baseball Plant, it reminds me of a Sea Urchin that has lost it's spines.
