My husband and I were married on Sept 11th 1971, today is our 40th wedding anniversary September 11, 1971 ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden )
How wonderful! 9-11 has gotten so much publicity that it's good to hear that something other than tragedy happened on that date. Happy Anniversary! I hope you'll be as happy as dr and I when you celebrate your 50th. dooley
Congrats on the 40th anniversary. Randy and I are only 8 and a half years behind you Lovely photo, you both look like a couple of kids.
For us in Pakistan, September 11 had always been a day of national moaning. As that is the day when Mister Muhammad Ali Jinnah (founder of Pakistan), passed away in 1948. He left a new nation only a year after it's creation. Making everyone feel like orphans, (with an openly hostile neighboring enemy nation threatening us nonstop)... But these last few words said by Jinnah, gave everyone the courage to withstand it all. And so here we are today! "With faith, discipline, and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve..." - Mohammad Ali Jinnah (1876 - 1948). The same of course can be applied to anything worth cherishing - For example marriage. So a very happy 40th anniversary to Gfreiherr!
What a lovely photograph Gail!! Happy Ruby wedding anniversary. I hope you both celebrated it in style.
Thank you all for your good wishes. We enjoyed a quiet dinner with our dear friends. Next month we will celebrate with a two week vacation in Maui & Kauai
That's wonderful Gail. You two look very happy back then and after 40 years I'm sure nothing has changed. Wishing you both a long and continued happiness!
