Our teenage son, a good kid Who slopes about the house Wearing a hoodie Hands in jeans pockets. slouching Who nods hello And nods goodbye But offers little else in communication Has told us that his band has gotten a gig at a local place. Our teenage son, a good kid Asks us if we want to hear him play. (Sheepishly he tells us we will have to buy our own tickets.) Our son, a good kid Tells us he has written the music for the group. And tells us he has written the lyrics. Our son, a good kid Tells us he has also invited his friends (no surprise) But also tells us he has invited other adults: his piano teacher, last year's English teacher, his music teacher. We are astonished. Our son, a good kid who still slopes about the house Is growing up.
Cayuga Morning, Sounds like a wonderful kid. You know the apple doesn't fall far.........Speaking of growing gardens. Splendid story.
Oh I hope you can take photographs to let us see. You must be excited to see what he has achieved. My youngest son also writes music and lyrics. He isn't in a band but writes for groups and individuals.
He can come up with just about anything that folks asks him to do for them. He does write quite a bit for guitar players which tends to be either classical or rock. I don't know where he gets if from as neither his dad or I are in the least it musical.
He does this on the side. Mainly for groups and individuals that he knows. His main job is working for in the film industry at Pinewood studios in London.
Oh my gosh!!!! I don't even know him but felt my heart swell as I read your post This is wonderful!!! If my nephew were to do something that sweet for my sis and BIL, she would pass out!! They are really struggling right now :'( Enjoy the show!!
Thanks Strats. I had tears in my eyes when I wrote that post. Our son is a good kid, but we have not been without worries. Parenting is sometimes the hardest job on earth. Please give my best to you sister & brother-in-law.
