Retiring in 8 weeks after 36 years of teaching. Will be relandscaping front and back yards. Some will be drought tolerant, some will be vegetable gardening in a decorative style.
HAPPY UPCOMING RETIREMENT PROFKANZ. I'm so glad you've joined us here at GardenStew. A warm welcome from Scotland. Do tell us a little about yourself and your garden. By the way we love 'before and after' photographs here. (hint, hint)
Welcome from central Texas! We (husband and I) are retired. Believe me, retirement is not for the weak! Let us know where you are so we can make good comments on your progress. We are very familiar with "drought tolerant" since we either have flood or drought conditions.
Hi Prof, welcome to GardenStew from dry and warm north central Texas. My garden has known about drought for most of the last 12 years and it continues so far this year. We love photos so get new batteries for your camera so it will be ready when you retire and have nothing else to do....like retirees ever have nothing else to do. My hubby has 5 more years and by then my 'to-do' list for him will assure that he is never without something to keep him busy. I might/ought to hide that list from him or he may change his mind about retirement.
Hi Profkanz and a hearty welcome to GardenStew What an exciting time coming up for you really soon. I'm very much looking forward to hearing about your re-landscape. Enjoy the community!
Well, I'm jealous! I'd LOVE to retire, but a some unexpected and unwanted twists and turns in life has made that a dim possibility for me. Enjoy it for the both us!! And welcome, too!
ProfKanz- Welcome from a Stewbie in Wis. and congrats on your up coming retirement. Wow that is quite a few years in the teaching field. We look forward to seeing pic's of your up coming projects.
