Here are three special planters my husband made for me.

This is for vegetables. It's raised so that I can tend it myself as I use a wheelchair. So far I have seeded carrots, beets, lettuce, wax beans and swiss chard. He'll be making another so I can have peas and cucumber.

This one is a watering can he made. I put bidens and violas in it.

This one he made from an old tire. Poor guy, he really had to work to turn the tire inside out! Gee, he must love me. :D

Hi I also have difficulty getting down to plant. Last year I did container gardenting. I used large square pots for cucumbers and put a "ladder" in for them to climb. I used half whiskey barrels for peppers and tomatoes. Since I don't have vegetables now they have all been converted to flower containers. I sit on a chair to weed the plants. Wannabe

I only got the Oops thing from photobucket and couldn't see your pics.
What a wonderful and loving husband you have. My DH is very helpful around the yard too. He is disabled, but does the watering and other things while I am at work so I can rest when I get home.

I've only just started with container veggies this year. How did yours turn out? Any suggestions?

    cajunbelle:

I hope you can see the pics now. I was adding some at Photobucket and for some reason some of the ones I uploaded went into the wrong album, so I had to juggle them a bit. I think it's fixed now.

    Yep, my hubby's a keeper. :)

I can't see the pics either Praire Lily  The links must point to the old photo album locations within PhotoBucket. You should be able to edit your original post with the updated locations.

Funny thing is, it was my husband who really got me into gardening. Growing up, I watched my mother and her "babies" each year but never was interested. Go figure! :D

I confess, I was a little worried about him. His face got so red with the effort.

But not as much as when I said that I liked the tire planter so much, I wanted 3 more!! LOL!!
