While mowing around a patch of wildflowers, I couldn't help but notice how many more Spiderworts there were since last week.
And I wish I was able to properly photograph them to show you how many.

And the bees were all over them.

I would love to have a large patch of Spiderwort like that. I guess I could if I didn't have them in a large pot ;)

    Mine haven't started blooming yet.

Cheryl, we have spiderwork in the yard, in the pasture, and in the drainage ditches! And you are absolutely right--the bees love them (which is why we have them all over--they are in our own personal "no mow" zone!).
I think your photo did them justice.

Great picture Cheryl. From southern Canada to Argentina, pink, white and blue spiderworts excite fields and gardens. I wish they would last longer. Lately I have been transplanting new plants to other garden beds to spread the color. The bees love them.

Thanks everyone. They look their best around mid-morning. I refuse to mow that area until they are done blooming.

That first shot is great!! I really like Spiderwort. The ones I have here will continue to bloom all thru the summer until August.

Thanks Michael and Netty. Know how I got that first shot? Just held the camera down there and snapped away.
With all the fire ants, I wasn't about to lay down in the grass/weeds. :scheming:
