Last night we had sleet, freezing rain and snow. But it did stay above freezing over night. I got the side walks salted and fed the birds etc. I always put some seeds on the ground for the doves and other ground feeders. But I noticed that the starlings are back. No Robins yet but it can only be a few weeks!
Yep, the timice have paired up. The raptors are screeing back and forth. I thought I heard a woodpecker drumming yesterday. The length of day is increasing. Unless we are having a mini-ice age, spring is on the way. Winter is just throwing the 'Hail Mary' pass.
As much as today is very winter-like, I do agree Spring is coming. The sunshine is warm now, there are birds singing in the woods, days are are longer with a much better quality of light, the temperatures are much milder than they have been all winter long. today it was about warm- it was 39f.
