Well, not all is hard work and perspiration, some of the time is spent enjoying my flowers and the wildlife that comes by or nests in the allotment. First the birds. This first pic os of a coot and it's single surviving chick. Then there are the Great Tit chicks a few days before they fledged. I liked looking in on them once a day. The swan family and their cygnants as they glide up the canal from whence they came. Moving now to the flowers and keeping to the "white theme", a Miss Bateman Clematis. The Solomon Seal is doing very well this year. It is multiplying so rapidly I may have to decrease their numbers. My little Rhodendron is just blooming-away this spring. My one and only Hosta. I transplanted and reduced it's size by 2/3rds last fall and it seems to be bouncing right back. Can you identify it, Droopy...or anyone for that matter? The Ladybirds in this bloomed-out Wildemanskruid (Pulsatilla vulgaris) found a very odd place for romance. The elegant Clematis Mrs. Cholmondeley is looking particularly sweet now and a nice flower to end this display.
Wonder photos Sjoerd. I love the baby birds . I have a Kildeer nest in my veggie garden with 4 eggs in it. I wouldn't mind so much if mama Kildeer would let me get just a little bit closer to the nest...she's nested where I wanted to plant the Zucchini! Your Clematis vines both look great. Mine are unhappy this year
What a wealth of wildlife and beautiful flowers Sjoerd. I really love both of your clematis - my favourite colours too!! :-D
Thank you so much, NETTY. I am sorry to hear about your Clematis plants this year, what do you think happened? How exciting to have a Kildeer nest in such close proximity. I do hope that you can get a pic or two. I read a bit about them on the internet. I am so glad that you liked the pics, EILEEN. I am quite happy with the Clematises too. I am a little surprised that they are blooming because it has been so cool here. Oh well, I'm not complaining. Thank you KG-- I am glad that you found them nice to see. I am enjoying their display these days hen I get a chance to look instead of work...hahaha.
I always look forward to your photos Sjoerd, and these are no exception, they are wonderful. What is the tiny blue flower growing everywhere?
These are just the loveliest photos to start my day. The babies are adorable, arent' they? The clematis with the forget me nots caught my eye -- so delicate and gentle looking. All looking peaceful and encouraging.
Great photos, the Clematis with the Forget-me-not coming up over it is a wonderful shot. It would make a beautiful framed print.
Hello CB--Nice to see you. I am happy that you liked the fotos. That tiny blye flower is the Forget-me-not, as Toni and Daisy have said. I started out with one pack of seeds a number of years ago and now they have spread out over the entire flower harden. There are thousands of blooms and the honeybees love them. DAISY--Yes those little baby birds really are the cutest things. I could watch them for hours. I especially liked the Miss Bateman Clematis with Forget-me-nots too, and I think that your words describe exactly the way that I felt about looking at it. I could have used the same words. Amazing. Thank you so much, TONI--I sometimes use my own fotos as as the background on my monitor. I do not do that so much these days because it takes so much RAM but I do like seeing flowers every day.
Wonderful photos, my favorites are the Ms Bateman and the forget-me-nots and the rhodendron & forget-me-nots.
Thank you very much, Gail. I really like the Forget-me-nots. They are like pools of sky-blue water in all of the various plots.
I love all your fowl photos but your flower blooms are a dream to be had the Clemmies are so fabulous.I wish we could grow them well here but its to hot.I can not pick a favorite out of them all as they are all sooo beautiful.
