Seems that I have been waiting forever for spring to appear here in southern Ontario this year! My Bougainvillea is inside blooming it's little heart out Meanwhile, outside 'Pink Parasol' is opening Grape Hyacinth The nearby woods are filled with blooming Trilliums Tulips are starting to bloom Forget-Me-Not's are opening I'm always thrilled when the Euphorbia blooms Lamium is starting to open too The Lilac is loaded with blooms this year and I can't wait until these buds start opening. I have to add that weatherman says we might get frost on Sunday night, and that worries me. My Lilac's got hit with a late frost last year and they didn't bloom at all. Keeping my fingers crossed! Yesterdays rain has 'greened' things up. Now there is grass to cut and weeds to pull
I'm so happy to see you getting blooms finally and they are all so pretty. But that last photo has to be my favorite! Although I love seeing the close ups of the flowers, I really enjoy an overall view.
Your garden appears to be at the same stage as mine this year Netty. Spring certainly took its time to come our way didn't it? We seem to have similar taste in garden style too with the curved flower beds. I'm not a great fan of straight lines for some reason. I hope the forecast frost doesn't descend on you and that your lilac goes on to bloom and attract lots of bees.
Hopefully the weather forecast will be wrong, they usually are down here so there is a good chance it will be for you too. Everything is lovely and I LOVE that last photo. I want to live where you were standing to take it so I can have that view every day.
I love seeing spring and your photos are exceptional. The forest filled with trilliums is my favorite. Wish I could create it in my back yard.
Thanks for your kind words. Cherylad, a garden view photo better shows the feeling of the entire space, don't you think? Eileen, straight lines are just too formal for my style of gardening. But I do enjoy looking at other gardens that have straight lines. Toni, I do hope you are right about the weathermen being wrong! Droopy and Cayuga, spring was worth the wait! Jewell, the photo really does no justice to the view of the forest alive with Trillium's. I wish I had enough trees to recreate it here.
