In the low 50's here today. Bright sun and very little wind, so I burnt a brush pile today. Could hear and see the Grackles. And the Red Winged Blackbirds are back. I could hear them in the field behind me. They say highs in the 50's all this next week.

Sounds like a great day Capt! It's nice out here too, but it's windy and that makes it cool.

I'm being cautious here but I think spring is coming to Scotland!! We may still have night frosts but the snow is disappearing and I can actually see GRASS in the garden again. :D

Another beeeeooootiful day today. It's 9:45 am and already at 45 deg. F. Was out burning some more brush and could hear Robins, but haven't seen any yet. Supposed to get to mid- 50's today. Rain later in the week.

*opens the door, looks out,,is met with mounds of snow and just a little path to get out. sighs. Closes the door, and refuses to tell Capt. Kirk what she really thinks of spring at the moment*

    But its sunny out!!

Was setting on the front porch in the sun, in shirt sleeves a while ago. Noticed 2 woodpeckers in the one tree across the driveway. They have a hole dug out in it and are starting to line it with grass etc for a nest. So I guess spring is really here.

Congratulations on your spring. I thought we had it, since we had rain and a very good melt-down, and I can actually see nearly half of our fence now, and one single snowdrop that's about an inch or 2,5 cm above ground, with a bud on it.

But now it's snowing heavily again, for the second day running, and the forecast says three more days of the same. I feel like hibernating for another month or so.
