I'm almost sure it's spring in Texas now. I looked at the ten day forecast on weather.com for our zip code. Each day for the next 10 days it will be above 65 and three of the days it will be in the 70's. The lowest temp for night time was 45. So, the temps are not in the freezing range. This afternoon I was sitting out on the sunny front porch reading garden magazines about Texas gardening. Well, I was supposed to be reading garden magazines. I was sitting there staring into space (like an old retired person) and noticing things in the yard. We have the pretty orange breasted blue birds bopping all over. There were some cardinals, sparrows, blue jays, mockingbirds, and doves. Also, some crows and vultures. I saw a little hummingbird flit past. I haven't seen any of those since before Thanksgiving so I came inside and found the feeders I had cleaned and put away last fall. I filled one and hung it out. Of course, I didn't see the hummingbird again. I saw some wasp hovering over the little purple wildflowers (henbit) and I saw a butterfly. A bird saw the butterfly, too. Poor butterfly, it got away but was missing a part of it's wing. Two cats were wandering around meowing and looking a bit lost. Looking for mates, maybe!
I went and cut brush this morning and had to take my jacket off. So, I think it must be spring here in Texas. I wish it was truly spring for everyone and you would all be done with the snow for this year.

I think spring is almost here in Scotland. At long last the snow is beginning to melt and I can actually see my garden re-appearing. :-D

Here in central Ohio, the day time highs have been in the mid 40's for the past week. This coming week is to be in the 50's. I am seeing more and more grass in the yard too. We are tohave a few rain showers this week, so that will help get rid of the snow faster.

Its getting warmer here too! yay! we made it to 1C or 34F yesterday, and today we may see,,,wait for it,,,3C!! or 36F. But the sun is shining bright and the snow is melting. Still along way before we see actual grass. I mean a very long way. But the drifts are getting lower,,lol. I set my thermometer out in the sun and it is reading 20C or around high 60's F? So it won't be too long now for us here.

    Snow tan time!!

Dooley, to me it sounds like a perfect day, warmer temperatures, birds visiting, and garden magazines. Enjoy your spring...it's getting a little warmer here in the Northeast too.

Oh happy days! Dooley, I just checked the 10 day forecast for my zip code and our temps are supposed to be in the mid-50s F (10 C) during the day and just around 40 F (4 C) at night. Four days of clouds and rain but the warm temps are a good start. As of yesterday, my yard is snow-free except for a few leftover piles made by the bobcats.

    It's coming!!!

Thanks Dooley...sounds like a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Especially after all the work you have been doing clearing your property. I also enjoyed your blog on how they prepared and skirted your double wide. I know you must be excited to get moved in and settled. We are getting closer to spring. Daytime temps have reached 50 but warmer weather is coming but it is still in the 30's at night.

It's warming up here too! I'm not getting too excited, though. Mother Nature usually dumps more snow on us sometimes until the end of April. I'm enjoying this weather while it's here :)

Oh, dear Droopy! We are moving to a small house at the end of the month. I'll try to send some of this good weather to you. It is cloudy and gray this morning so maybe you won't want it. dooley

*unpacking* Doesn't matter, as long as it's a lot warmer than what we've got, Dooley. I need this to melt, and preferably yesterday.

How come you don't have the same kind of snow that we have? It snows one day and night and then it goes away the next day. That's the kind I like if I have to have snow. You should look into ordering the kind we have.

We usually get that kind of snow in April. If we get a delivery in December it tends to be durable. We like quality, you know, and prefer things to last. The last couple of winters we've had snow similar to yours, though. It's only been here for a few days before disappearing, but then we get fresh supplies several times per week. But cleanliness isnt't always a virtue when it comes to snow. I don't think we need to change it several times per week.

Our snow leaves before it gets dirty except along the roads where it gets muddy.
I guess I wouldn't want to be changing it four or five times a week either.
Enough is enough already. Give it a good talking to and tell it if doesn't leave you alone you will send it to dooley and then it had better look out.
