Worked or rather played in the yard this morning until the sun came out and coupled with the high humidity made it impossible for me to stay out any longer. Scabiosa beginning to bloom next to the Pansies Spiderwort bloom, I didn't notice the little visitor until I loaded the pictures on the computer. I love the purple color of the blooms with the Chartreuse color of the leaves. One pair of mini-Daffs blooming in the birthmonth garden. A mound of Snapdragons opening up. Another pair of mini-Daffs, this one is a two colored one while it's stem-mate is the solid yellow like the others. This is the view from the 'doorway' of my bloom house.
I love your daffodils. Especially the bi-coloured one, it's very special. The spiderwort flower/leaf-combination is making my mouth water. Delicious! As for the snap dragons, scabiosa and pansies - wish I could bury my nose into those! Your view is great.
That bi-colored one is so cool - I'm glad you took a picture of it to 'preserve' it. How lovely it all is!
My, oh my, oh my...what a deliciuous sight, Toni. That garden of yours is really looking good. There is so much colour already. I like dthe flowers that you featured...but that little scabiosa caught my eye. I got a hand full of those th help re-vamp a "petit plot" just off the central patio (now that I have the flower garden fenced-in. I have some of those as well as the pink version to intersperse. I am hoping that the colour combination will look nice. Not a very masculine choice perhaps, but the flower garden is for us both. I am hoping that my partner will like them as well. I didn't realise that the scabi's bloomed so early. I hope that mine won't bloom till late June at least. Anyway... great fotos and beautiful, rich colours. Just the thing to have showing as Spring openers.
Happy to oblige the spring color deprived among us. I keep having to remind myself it is now only April, everything is blooming and growing so well already. Sjoerd, the temperatures here have been in the upper 70's to upper 80's (24 -32C) range several times in March and so far in April, so the Scabiosa's and a few other summer bloomers have been fooled into blooming already. I am almost afraid of what summer will be like this year
Its good to see your colors. I like those snapdragons. Michigan still sits in brown and white. Though I have seen buds just coming on the trees. And as I walked around the yard I have little sprouts of green leaves from where I'll have flowers. I don't have any of my flowers marked so I don't know what they'll be till they get here. For now I'll sit back & enjoy others. Thanks for posting your colors.
Thanks for sharing Toni. It's so nice to be reminded of what I have coming. I really love the colors you have. I love color...
I see, Toni. Well I have grown different sorts of other scabiosas, but this 'dwarf' sort is new for me, and I was afraid that I had made a mistake. I almost never buy something that blooms in the spring. Whew!
