We have been getting a flow of southern warm air for the past 2 days. Thurs. it got up to 48 Deg. F. and today and New Years it's supposed to be near 55 F. Very unusual for central Ohio for Dec 31st. Only 4 or 5 small patches of snow left and its more like crushed ice. We are supposed to get rain tonight and tomorrow morning. Next week is supposed to be near normal temps. (Highs in mid 30's F) and sunny all week long.
I'm packing my bags now CK. Hope you don't mind a couple of Scots dropping in for a visit. I could do with some sunshine and warmth but all we're due to get is more of the white stuff.
It actually got up to 62F this afternoon. The snow is all gone. We have rain coming in after midnight.
I'll give you some of our snow if you're pining for some. I'll even throw in the freezing temperatures as an extra gift for you.
It was like a summer day here today. It was 72 and sunny this afternoon. The forecast was for thunderstorms but they never showed up. We spent the afternoon outside in t-shirts. The kids next door were barefoot and wearing shorts. In Arizona, where we used to live they are having snow and blowing snow causing drifts and closing roads. You can't figure the weather anymore. The forecast is wrong most of the time. Enjoy your nice weather, Capt. Kirk. It probably will be snowing again before you know it. Happy New Year! dooley
Spring like weather here also with lots of rain, thunderstorms, and believe it or not tornados all around us. I believe I like the winter better. wannabe
We've had rain for two days as well, but with all our snow it's still far from springlike. We're also going back to winter tomorrow or the day after, if the forecast is right.
