Our red winged black birds have returned and every where you look you can see robins....plus the garden is starting to turn green with daylilies sprouting and daffodil... You can still see piles of snow that used to be very high but they are shrinking and quite black in color....I think we will be having an early spring in Wisconsin...at least I am hoping we do!

We heard spring peepers Sunday night too!!! I was leaving a monthly book club meeting when one of the women heard them. We all stood around in the driveway, listening. Such a great sound of spring!

How nice it would be if those birds would stop by my feeder too. They do not seem to come by feeding stations so commonly over here as they do in GB. I see them occasionally fly across our lottie complex, they do not alight on my plots. Well Kate, I can doubly enjoy seeing your piccies.

Sjoerd, mine don't feed because other people have the same idea.
The only birds my neighbours can't 'steal' are my Goldfinch, they need special food. They will appear soon.
Two Blackbirds were on the garage roof having a bath today...not my garage just a neighbours. Stupid home designs here when a garage can take someone else's garden space.
I also have to contend with Leylandi taking up space and pebbles on plastic that sweats in the summer heat.

That is interesting...and perhaps part of my problem--"special food". I wasn't aware that they required special food.
I see great flocks when I am out hiking and have not actually noticed what they were feeding on.

Yes, I find that an odd situation too. There is a show over here called the "Driving Judge". A judge goes around and listens to peoples arguments with each other then makes a binding judicial decision. By far the majority of the problems are neighbours that have a quarrel with each other over borders, fences and overhanging garages. There are laws making it easy for the judge to make a decision on the cases.

The show is a form or emo-tv, but interesting to me because of the judicial laws.

We are not alone then in disliking our place we call home Sjoerd.
I am looking every week on homes up for bid, the only way out of this home.
I am concentrating on one area where the gardens are looked after at the front and my chosen church is right across form it.

The Goldfinch feed on the tiny black seeds. You must buy the special container though.

    The feeder:

    The seed:

You get a poly bag full of the seed, once they turn up there is no stopping them feeding so to have a half bag still left is great buy.

Thanks for the links, Kate. I shall go have a look.

As for another house for you--do you think that we will see you on "Escape To The Country" one day. chuckle. I watch that every day over here. One sometimes sees some quite lovely places, in a variety of price ranges.
