And thanks from my ducks! Frank from Ireland S-H from Karachi, Pakistan Special thanks to Jerry Sullivan from Chelmsford MA , for your "Welcome" in Russian! These days in my garden the snow becomes friable and falls down. The roof of my greenhouse is cleaned of the snow today. The birds chirp merrily, warmed in the sun. My lobelia and pelargonia seedlings grow up and wait for Spring. But Spring will come to us in April. Then my beautiful spirea "Grefsheim" will bloom and it will adorn the our garden entrance. I love to touch spirea "Grefsheim" flowers! In my part of the world, (coastal city of Karachi) it never ever snows. Only time in recorded history, was in the 1920s - And it was actually a freak occurrence. In fact right now it is Spring season over here. But our Spring is more like a merciless Summer in Europe. All this is because we are actually a coastal semi-desert, situated (on the edge of the Arabian Sea) just 1 degree above the Tropic of Cancer. So that's why seeing a picture of those 2 icicles is very fascinating for me!
We've been having spring-like weather here for the last few weeks. And there's no predictions of winter-like weather in the near forecast. There are many trees in bloom now and flowers popping everywhere. Hope spring makes it to everyone really soon!
Well I don't have any icicles, and the snow has melted away... But we are a long way from real spring. Just a few Daffs & Crocus poking up. It is still pretty chilly and the wind is cold! One day will be warm, then a front moves through and brings chilly air again. I am anxious! Especially since I have to get back to my landscaping job and it gets kind of cold out there! March is the month of patience!
Lovely photos and it does seem the real spring will be a ways off. Here we get weather that is not freezing, but never warm enough. Sounds like your indoor growing has begun in earnest though.
HI Jewell,Kay,cherylad,S-H, every new day in my garden is other than yesterday. I thought the spring is coming, but today temp is -10C or 12F. I've got some seeding for greenhouse, so I need to be patience. Like Kay wrote: March is the month of patience. And it's very right. I'm glad my small tomatos grow well, "cherry",and the flowers too. lobelia seedings ( photo / image / picture from Nadezda's Garden )
