I have two plants right now that have aerial roots and need something to grab ahold of. (Crucifix Orchid and Night Blooming Cereus).
I looked at several stores for those styrofoam-moss-like stakes and couldn't find any.
So... I improvised with some of that coco-liner stuff stapled to some wood stakes. Maybe I should have asked beforehand... but will these work okay?

Cheryl, I don't see why your idea wouldn't work. All you did differently from a commercial "stake" was save yourself some money.

Both your plants will appreciate the stake as the air roots take hold for support. Actually epiphytes will like almost anything to grab for support.

Thanks Carolyn and Jerry... I'm always up for saving money. Now let's see if the plants like them or not.

I would like to see how they are doing after a while. I have some bromeliads that might like this.

I'm sure I'll be posting photos in a couple of months... hopefully with blooms.

Good idea, both those plants will love it,my crucifix are just tied to trees, not in soil or any pot. Also the cereus will grow tied to a tree, but I have mine in pot so I can move it easy, it is inclined to take over when no one is looking.
Well done 10 out of 10 for innovation.I hope they perform to your expectations and have pretty blooms.
