Does anyone have a Stanley plum tree and how do you prune it? I planted one a couple years ago and it is now about 10' tall with about 5 long strappy branches coming from the trunk at about 4'.....not much lateral growth at all. I see a few fruit spurs, but I am wondering how much to cut it back and which shape is best for it. Vase shaped pruning or central leader for this? We have never had a plum tree and I hate to ruin it before I even get any fruit from it. Thanks C
