Boy looking at corn fields around here. I know anything with Corn in going to cost more next year. So like the animals will be gathering things that will keep and not go bad. Might have to change my eating habits

We are doing the same, although the corn harvest in Texas is pretty good. Cornmeal, corn oil, and chicken feed are on my list of "stock up" items.

I read an article in Time magazine that painted a bleak picture for the 2012 corn crop. Corn futures are well above last year. With 40% of the corn crop going to ethanol, it does not look good for gas prices either.

Only corn crops that looked good was in Amana -they had put watering system in 89. Never used it-but not cheap to run diesel runs motor. But they cut them off. Taking water away from Rural water system. Got thing over there-they turn manure into gas.But would hate to burn it in my jeep. But main prayer is rain at church.

I feed a mix of cracked corn and black oil sunflower seeds to the birds in the winter. Last Sat. I was in Tractor Supply Center and a 50 lb. bag of sunflower seed was $24.95. Last winter it was $12.95. They didn't have any cracked corn, so couldn't find out the price.

But figure don't smoke or drink got to have some vises. But feeding the pets will go up. 92 # yellow lab . Have to cut her off. We get sunflower seeds at local grainery-lot cheaper then tractor supply.Got Hog on order from friend.Sad when you have to pay more to have it butchered -then farmer get's. Looked at Farm next to us-his bean don't look as bad as some.
