Still seeing herons.

    I know I said still seeing them, actaully we see them all the year round. This is from todays walk down at the lagoon.

    It constantly amazes me how sharp and clear your close-up photos are!
    We have herons, still. Well, actually we hear them in the morning (not a very melodious bird) so they aren't "still" but rather noisy. We occasionally see them either walking the mowed path around the pond, or taking off to fly to a neighbor's pond.
    We have Foster's Terns coming in now--they usually appear in October, but this year is different, to say the least!

    We usually have caspian terns but they didn't stay very long this year. I enjoyed photographing them in the past.

    We seem to be seeing more herons hunting on the road verges these days. As eels are becoming scarcer they must be looking for small mammals instead.
