I think it's all looking very good! Lovely blooms... and with lots of greenery... even more blooms to follow. And doesn't hurt to have a 4-legged gardening buddy helping out, does it?
Hi Cheryl, just watching and watching the rose buds,..with 16 rose bushes,..its the garden highlight,..the two dogs never touch any of the flowers,..as for the cats,..that's another story,..still not too bad.
Your columbines and ferns are gorgeous. I love spring with all bright green plants emerging, looks like it won't be long until you have blooms.
I really like the way you've set out your garden Philip. Those columbine are beautiful colours. I see we share a liking for ferns as I have the Hart's Tongue and many others too. Those veg cages look as though they'll protect your seedlings well from any mice or birds - did you build them yourself?
Hi Eileen, the garden still has not reached the stage i want,..and that's after 7 years of living here,..but nearly there,..i have height in plants,.. and fitted 20 Columbine beneath the 16 rose bushes,..plus some more here and there,..i have lots of Purple Fennel coming along,..6ft high stuff,..and with Foxgloves to beat the band,..plus several Brugansia, not forgetting the Ferns,..i did notice you like Ferns,..they do seed in the strangest of places. Oh the three chicken wire frames i built myself,..there was a need for them,..i have two adult cats and three big kittens,..with kittens on the way also!!!!. Hi Calin, neat is right,lol,..guilty!,..though as the plants grow that neat look will vanish and the pathways will become smaller and more overgrown.
Looks like things are about to explode with colors and scents! The columbine are so pretty and the color of the cowslips... I love that. It's nice to see your friend Hudson...
Ready to explode is right!,..the first rose bloomed today,..and yesterday an Allium sphaerocephalon..this was a bulb i found but didn't know what it was,..nice surprise. Good Morning Philip, I couldn't get any pictures to load yesterday so i didn't get see them until today. EVERYTHING is gorgeous. I wish we could all come take a stroll through the garden.
Good morning to you Carolyn, sorry to hear you had a glitch yesterday,..gremlins in the works!. You can take a stroll through my garden,..2010 version through my YouTube Account,..so have a nice coffee break, . Video...My Garden 2010,part 2.
Philip, I have never seen more beautiful columbines! Those colors are magnificent. Your whole garden is magnificent! Such color, texture, interest--really outstanding. And Hudson is pretty good, too! Thanks for the stroll through your scenery.
Hi Jane, last year was my first to grow Columbines!,..i was given the seeds by some friends in America,..i have fallen for them,..oh the flowers i mean, . Poor Hudson has started trying to run through the glass doors, .
I was a pleasure walking thru your garden pics, I to love the colors of columbine, I have to grow them in the fall here, and have not done so in long time. But yours inspire me, think I'll give them another try this fall.
Hi folks, re that bulb i found,..which bloomed and i named it Allium sphaerocephalon,..i was incorrect,..bulburom was kind enough to inform me it is in fact Allium aflatunense.
