Some of the members who have been here awhile might remember our friend, Marlene. She's a member of
Gardenstew but because she isn't a gardener herself she seldom posts. But, she keeps up on things by reading it everyday. Mostly so she can keep tabs on me. The storms missed her house but she has no electric. It went out at 5 pm on Wednesday and will not be back for 8 to 10 days. She said the large transmitters owned by TVA were damaged and until they can get them fixed or replaced the local companies cannot reconnect to it. She said many towns around Huntsville had a lot of damage but not so much right in Huntsville. There were tornado sirens for most of the day there on Wednesday and in the evening.
She is safe for now and says she has what she needs to make it until the electric comes back. She counts herself among the blessed.

I'm so glad Marlene didn't suffer any damage Dooley. Being without power for 8-10 days isn't exactly wonderful but at least her house is still standing and she knows she'll be re-connected eventually.

I heard about the tornato on the UK news and it seems to have been a really dreadful one. The news reader said it was 2 miles wide at one point!!

I'm glad Marlene is OK ... I've been hearing about all these storms and it's just horrible!

This year has so many storms putting a lot of people in harms way. The best we can do is pray that the storm frequency subsides.
