Had a storm come through about 5:15 last night and did some tree damage. Power was off for almost 3 hrs. Here are some pics of the damage.

Guess what I get to start on today? The tree in the last pic will have to come down as it is completely stripped. More firewood!

We went in to town to get something to eat at 2
7 last night and we were the only ones to have any damage. So it must have been a micro burst of wind. When we got home the power was back on.

Enjoy your firewood process. Those wind gusts really have some power in them!

oh dang! but on the plus side you get free firewood for winter. I'm just glad nothing on the property, including you and yours didn't get the damage instead of the trees.

I was out looking at them more closely this morning. They are all 3 Honey Locust trees, the ones that bloom so pretty in the spring. And every one of them snapped off where wood peckers had dug out spots for nests.

We got hit really hard at work yesterday afternoon. Trees were down all over town, many hitting vehicles and homes. I saw an upside down trampoline in a tree and the steeple blew off the church. It was nasty, but as far as I've heard there were no injuries. We lost the tops off of a few Locust trees too :(

That was a strong wind burst. Those are some mighty big trees. Good thing you were gone at the time. ;)

When we had such large trees around our house and in the woods in the backyard, I always worried about the strong wind. We lost plenty in the 9 years we lived in that area...always busy picking up branches or large limbs after a storm...One I really hated to see loose a large limb was a cedar in the corner of the property...it was such a beauty before the wind got it...we used to have one of the largest sugar maples in Outagamie county...or at least that is what the seller told us..It was huge and took 3 or 4 people to join hands and surround it...remember safety when taking down a tree...it always bothered me when my husband had to do it..Sherry
