This bird has been showing up for the last two summers on my little farm.
I'd like to know what he/she is.
The picture isn't the best cause I can't get too close without it flying away.

Could that be a Grey Jay? Or a Canada Jay they are sometimes called. We call them Whiskey Jacks.

I'm not sure where you live Jimmy, so I'm not sure if they would be common for you or not.

I live in the eastern part of Kentucky towards the Virginia border.
I too first thought it was some kind of jay but I don't think it is.

It will be on my bean trellis every evening around 6 pm, rain or shine. It'll fly to the same exact stick on my trellis every time.
It just sits there overlooking everything like it's the boss.
Last year it left around the end of September and returned a couple of weeks ago.
He's a fascinating creature, for sure

I wonder if it is a Gray Catbird. They are in your area, and very shy. They are sometimes mistaken for a Grey Jay, but more slender - like your photo. I hope you find out who your feathered friend is. :)

Pretty bird looks like a grey jay, long tail , strong stance, same as what we have around here . There might be some fancy insects he favors in your bean garden. Since the bird keeps coming back to the same place every year maybe it’s part homing pigeon.
