Strange bug

    Looks like they are stuck together,R they? If so maybe some kind of love bugs?

    This is a Large Milkweed Bug. They do no significant damage to plants. 8)

    Hey those are the adults of some bugs I took pics of on my butterfly bushes.

    They lay eggs and the babies come out tiny and orange. As they get bigger they eat alots of bug that eat off my butterfly bushes. Im now finding them on my passion vine and roses!

    The one that flew away looked just like yours but smaller....it has just morphed from the skin of the one at the bottom in above topic.

    They have a tube like mouth, I am guessing and used it to impale the fly.

    I am letting them stay. I have their egg sac everywhere.

    ive seen these bugs on my palm trees when they were first brought here from Florida. I was wondering the same thing.
