Not sure what to call this weird looking butterfly I found this morning while I was picking my strawberries.
It is definitely a keeper. :D

Ah, you have the rare fragaria doublensis, a butterfly that only shows up in the best gardens! It is said that gardeners blessed with these often have great strawberry crops.

Now I wouldn't mind finding a few of those attractive little butterflies around my garden. The birds always beat me to mine before I even get a chance to see them.

Hi Eileen: Yes I love finding these sweet surprises. I once read an article where someone was having trouble with the birds eating their strawberries. So the got some rocks about the same size as berries are and painted them red. Then before the berries where ripe they scattered them in their berry patch. When the birds found out they couldn't eat them they left the berries alone when they finally ripened. Would be worth a try. ;)
