I have read a couple of times that DaisyBeans has been harvesting strawberries and eating them on the way to work. A shameless display of flaunting, if I've ever seen it! It was difficult hearing that and then looking at mine--still white and small on the plant. It was a jelousy that I could almost not contain. Then EJ showed some on today's posting. Oh dear. I had to catch-up with these two strawberry starlets. It's my first harvest of the strawbs this year. It is one of the events that I use as a reference point in my garden's progress. I had a quick visit to the lottie before going to work today and was delighted to see that I had enough to be decadent. In the evening, after supper--it was time to show-off and dig into those red fruits. I say "show-off" because the lady re-upholsterer waqs coming by to pick up a couple of chairs that she would re-upholster for me. She also got to sample these strawbs. She liked them. Fresh strawbs, short cake and whipped cream. I don't have to tell you that it was nothing short of delicious. What do you think, Miss Daisy...am I catching up with you now?
Ohhhh. I would say you are running laps around me now, Sjoerd! That surely does look amazing.... I can almost taste it!
*dead faint* wow! oh my goodness that is what i call heaven on earth, no doubt. Guess i am going to have to go out and try to talk my strawberries into growing faster. Now i can hardly wait. Thank Sjoerd, tsk. lol. That looks like an amazing good dessert and i bet it tasted even better!
I love the way the flowers compliment the colours of the strawberries and cream. Both look scrumptious - what a beautiful photograph. :-D
That's it... I'm going to have to start eating breakfast before I log on here! Have to admit... before I scrolled down enough to see the strawberries... I thought you were taunting us with those beautiful red and white flowers!
KAY--thanks for your posting. Did your idea for dessert pan out ok? DAISY--Thanks for your comments. I soon hope to be running circles around you BACKWARDS. hahaha Well, a guy can hope, Thank you so much, EILEEN. I thought they looked good together as well. Glad you liked those fotos. Hee hee hee ...sorry FRANK. Oh BIITA--it sure did taste good. The first "feast" is always "special". Oops CHERYL--Hee hee hee...I almost gotcha, didn't I?
mmm so jealous!!! I'm currently fighting a battle with the squirrels to see who gets to eat the strawberries. I'm currently losing 4-0
Oh, you are making me hungry for strawberries. I love the Alstroemeria they are beautiful, did you grow them?
I think its absolutely unforgivable to show pics of something that looks that good without offering us a taste. Or at least tell us how good it was. LOL
Darn you Sjoerd. I had resisted buying any cream.....until I say your picture. I have now added cream to my shopping list for the strawbs we picked tonight.
DAN--That cheeky squirrel! I hope you are able to get a couple for yourself at some point. Thanks so much for the compliment, CB--No, I bought those Alstromeria from the shop. I buy cut flowers every week or two for the living room. Heh heh heh...they were delicious, MART...absolutely delicious. Hee hee hee Sorry EJ. WEll, you do know that they go betetr with whipped cream, don't you? Let me see how yours looks tonight.
