I have read a couple of times that DaisyBeans has been harvesting strawberries and eating them on the way to work. A shameless display of flaunting, if I've ever seen it! :D
It was difficult hearing that and then looking at mine--still white and small on the plant. It was a jelousy that I could almost not contain.
Then EJ showed some on today's posting. Oh dear. I had to catch-up with these two strawberry starlets.

It's my first harvest of the strawbs this year. It is one of the events that I use as a reference point in my garden's progress.
I had a quick visit to the lottie before going to work today and was delighted to see that I had enough to be decadent. In the evening, after supper--it was time to show-off and dig into those red fruits.
I say "show-off" because the lady re-upholsterer waqs coming by to pick up a couple of chairs that she would re-upholster for me. She also got to sample these strawbs. She liked them.

Fresh strawbs, short cake and whipped cream.
I don't have to tell you that it was nothing short of delicious.

I love the way the flowers compliment the colours of the strawberries and cream. Both look scrumptious - what a beautiful photograph. :-D

Have to admit... before I scrolled down enough to see the strawberries... I thought you were taunting us with those beautiful red and white flowers!

I'm currently fighting a battle with the squirrels to see who gets to eat the strawberries.

I think its absolutely unforgivable to show pics of something that looks that good without offering us a taste. Or at least tell us how good it was. LOL

Darn you Sjoerd. I had resisted buying any cream.....until I say your picture. I have now added cream to my shopping list for the strawbs we picked tonight.
