A couple of months ago my husband bought several everbearing strawberries for me and put in a planter. Nice of him to do that. They're smaller berries than other everbearings I've had in the past but sweet. They're getting runners. He wants to snip them and toss them in the compost. Can I plant the runners?

please do. Then you'll soon have a whole patch full. just plant them in rows with straw around each little plantlet.

I cut off and transplanted quite a few of them a week ago. So far none have died! The leaves seem a little wilty compared to the older strawberry plants, but so far so good. Hoping they'll grow as quick as the other ones.
