My family loves strawberries but I don't so I never gave much thought in growing them til I saw this video
a few weeks back. I am going to give a try. The 10 bare roots arrived today and I will be doing it this weekend. Any thoughts or tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Should work fine. You can snip off the babies and start other baskets.

Would it be possible to do this with tomatoes?

We had strawberries in hanging baskets a few years ago Clay and they grew just fine. The only problem was that the birds and squirrels managed to get to the fruit before we did as I couldn't cover them as I used to when they were in the ground or containers.

Thank you. I ended up planting them in the garden and picked up some year old strawberry to put in the hanger.

Thanks Eileen. I did it this morning and I'm going to put it on a shepards hook close to my back deck. Maybe I will find a way to cover them from the birds but I'm not to worried with our personal security guard aka Cooper the cat making his daily rounds.

I planted tomatoes upside down in buckets this year. I was a bit late in the season but one of them took really well. I planted companion herbs in the top, basil, chives and parsley. I've read that tomatoes and basil goes together very well. It's nice to do if you don't have much space and also makes it easier since there's not much weeds up there in the air.
