Had strong storms come through ahead of a cold front.
Had a tornado watch up, but nothing ever came from it. They had predicted wind gusts of up to 70 mph, but they weren't very strong as they came through here. We only got maybe 1/2 inch of rain here at the house, but my wife was in town and she said it rained so hard she had to pull over to the side of the road.

It rained pretty hard here for about a half hour, though the sky was dark all morning, and strong winds. The tornado sirens in the area were sounding too, though any tornados were in other counties.

Glad both of you dodged harmful weather! I saw the warnings for the Midwest on the weather channel, and hoped all my gardening friends in that area were safe.
We had strong winds, hail, and an inch of rain on Sunday. No damage here, except for a few torn broccoli and squash leaves, but we heard the tornado sirens in the town about 5 miles from here. It didn't touch down, thank heavens!

Sunday there were 4 tornadoes on the ground just a few miles east and south of me that did quite a bit of damage. We were coming home that evening from spending the afternoon with oldest daughter and her family and could see 4 of the most beautiful anvil cloud formations...meaning we were looking at the upper portions of the 4 tornadoes over there. But of course I didn't have my camera.

I'm glad you didn't catch the worst of it. I usually worry about friends when I know they're in the way of extreme weather.

Our autumn storms are delayed, but I guess they'll be here shortly, when this cold snap's over. It's usually very strong winds, above 30 m/sec or 67 mph, accompanied by a lot of rain. I'd love to see those storms go somewhere else. The wind I can live with, but the rain we don't need. :D

That storm is headed this way Capt. It should hit between 6-8pm tonight. I hope it's not as bad as they say it will be.

We got the same storm Capt. I was alright at my house but my sister's house was hit and a few of her neighbors. No one was hurt just property damage. I spent some time bringing in things that might get damaged in the high winds that was forecast...and prayed my woodpecker tree would not crumble it held it's own.

Glad everyone escaped harm. I, too, was concerned when I saw the weather reports.
