    Hi,

    Anyone know this plant?

There was a similar plant I brought back from Tenerife. I saw this one in Lancs B&Q store. Because it looked very much like the one I brought back I bought it for my son.

There is a label on the pot but now its been out all winter it will be wiped.

This has a much prettir flower though :D than mine. My one is orange.

It's the Dorotheanthus, or as we call them, "ijsbloem".
There are at least six species of this plant. I do not know which one this is.
I used to grow them in the ground around the edge of the central patio in the lottie (sort of as a limited ground cover). Of course it died during the winter.
Their colours can be startling sometimes.

You know Eileen...you may well be right on this one. After looking, I see that both the Dorotheanthus and the Carpobrotus appear to be in the sasme Latin Family, Aizoaceae.

    Thats awesome,

Many thanks Eileen. My son said it looked dead, hardly surprising as we have been under a blanket of snow for three weeks with severe low temps.

Today its clear, snow gone and a little sunny.

Now to seek out who sells this beauty.

Also thanks so much to everyone who replied.

Just so you know in case you don't. The one from Tenerfife which is simiar suckers itself everywhere, it was all over the crazy golf course.

Those look good in that blue pot. It really sets them off. Sort of like the blue skies one sees in Tenerife.

I have seen this plant growing wild in the dry rocky coastline down in Australia.

I think the plant could be pretty much Worldwide,

It would survive anywhere where its very dry Sjoerd.

Pity it looks so dead. I expect us to return in september so I could bring another small bit home. But I like the pink best.

It may start to waken soon in my garden but must have had a real body shock here. :D

And it could be a Species of the Delosperma Genus.. same Family as the other two. But the flower looks more like Kate's...yellow center and no white around the center.

    Thanks Toni!

If its possible I want to buy the pink variety.

Trouble with B&Q they only stock one plant as a specimen, don't know why. They did that with a plant I went all over for last year now a company has my details for when it comes in.

That plant was a Gaura - Passionate Blush..beautiful.

I need to jerk the companies memory I am buying it from lol Two years ago again at B&Q it cost £4.00 but they never stocked it again.
