Most are opened up now. They are so cute!
    Thanks for the seeds Toni.
S-H.... are these like the mini one's you were trying to get seeds for?

And as you can see now... they aren't very tall.

Your sunflowers are lovely Cheryl. They always make me think of sunshine even on a rainy day. I like the height of your ones and may try growing them myself next year.

    Thanks!
I had wanted to plant them in the ground, but the dog just seemed to want to walk or lay right there. So they had to be in a container.
They are little smiling faces, aren't they?

How cute! I think a mass planting of those in bloom would look awesome!

Nice miniatures Cheryl and an interesting question. I too wonder if S-H had something like these in mind when he tried to grow his sunflowers?

To discourage the dog try inter-dispersing some garden junque with the flowers to make it an uncomfortable spot to lay down on. Garden gargoyle with horns maybe?

Jerry..... the pooch in question is usually pretty good about staying out of the flower beds. This particular area just seemed to be right in her way. I put whirly-twirly thingies and rocks. But she wasn't giving up her pathway. So... we came to this arrangement. I still don't know which one of us won. :-D

    love your lil sunflowers! :)

I have been talking to S-H about his needs and he is wanting a dwarf variety with large heads. Kinda like a shrunk big sunflower. Heads around 10" or so but under 2ft in height for the whole plant.

Luckily i found some for him and hope to get them in the mail to him this week.
